The Picks I Use and Recommend

Believe it or not, there's a lot to be said about what kind of pick you use when it comes to the tone that comes out of your guitar. Many people think that the tone comes from the wood the guitar is made of or the strings you use, but the smallest tool can sometimes make the biggest difference.

In this lecture, I'll show you why it's so important to test out many different picks before you settle, and what I've learned from doing years of my own research with various types of picks.

I've included not one but two special BONUS videos detailing the guitar picks I've discovered since initially recording Bluegrass Guitar Essentials and why you should consider giving them a test drive.

Note: I currently use and have been using V-Picks for several years. I like them because they have excellent tone; with my preferred pick, The Gladiator, I get three picks in one (because of the tri-point design); and they're much cheaper than many other alternatives, including those listed below. I also like and recommend the Tradition Lite if you're looking for a standard 1.5mm guitar pick shape.
