A List of Current Projects, Goals, and Aspirations
Hello, Dear Reader,
You've just arrived at my now page. Have a seat. Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage. Make yourself comfortable while I share with you my current projects, goals, and aspirations.
So what is a now page? It's something I recently stumbled upon and decided I should implement myself. Rather than constantly updating smaller tasks on my main blog, I reasoned it would be better to create this now page and inform my readers of quarterly updates, thus saving the blog for more relevant content.
For more information on now pages and why you should create one, visit this website. For now (no pun intended), let's get on with the show.

1. The Creative Guitarist
One of the biggest projects I've been working on for over a year now is the creation and release of my brand new course The Creative Guitarist Masterclass. It's a really big deal for me because it has enabled me to find what I'm truly passionate about in regards to music, teaching, and more.
Rather than worrying about catering to my Bluegrass guitar customers, my Texas Blues customers, and having to separate my audience—like I've done for the past nearly ten years—I can instead focus on helping all my customers become more creative with their music goals.
In the video above, you'll get an inside look at the course overview, what it's all about, if it's right for you, and more. This course has some new features I've never released in any of my other courses.
The Creative Guitarist contains a 30,000-word ebook filled with essential curriculum, for one. And I've created a brand new Facebook Community with the goal of adding more content there on a regular basis, such as live streams, Q&A sessions, and more.
Basically, I'm rebuilding my entire brand around this course to help me serve others better, so look for more creative guitarist content on my YouTube channel (newly rebranded as The Creative Guitarist) as well as here on my blog.
I'm super excited about this new course. So much so, that I'm offering the first several lessons absolutely free! And not only that, but through the month of September, I'm celebrating the official launch by offering the entire masterclass course at the HUGE discount of half-off the normal price! Simply enter the coupon code 'tcg50off' during checkout, and you'll see the price drop drastically!
Hurry, this offer only valid thru September 30, 2021!
2. New Album, New Music
Click the images above for a larger view
As you may recall from my previous Now Page post—you can find all my Now Page posts on my Now Page Archives—I had just released a new single, "Inner Dawn," back in the Summer of this year. Now, I'm proud to announce the release of my debut album, Revival in the Air, available as a limited-edition first run.
After years of people constantly asking me if I had a CD of my own, I first began recording and mixing it. This has been a long process of learning how to do both on my own. Then, instead of waiting for all the songs to be finished, I thought, "Why not just release it now?" This way, people could hear my CD whenever they wanted to, and I could still get busy finalizing the mixes for the remaining songs. (This is the reason behind the "grayed out" tracks on the back cover.)
So, as it stands right now, this limited edition CD is only available for purchase in-person. You can either buy the CD directly from me (I've already sold several at our local farmer's market), or if you see me playing with The Gilbert Family on the road for the low price of $10 USD. (For a look at our touring schedule, click here.)
The plan is to widely release the "full version" of the CD whenever I finish mixing the remaining songs. Then, the price will increase to the normal $15 USD. But not to worry, because I've made it so that everyone can enjoy the full album—even if the remaining songs are still in the works.
When you purchase the CD from me or The Gilbert Family, I've placed a special link inside the CD jacket that will take you directly to a special page on my website that will allow you to download the remaining songs once I've finished them.
I hope to start the mixing process on the next single for the album, "The One Who Died For Me," (Track 5, as seen in the image above from the album's back cover) as soon as next week. Now that my biggest recent project (Point 1 above) is finally finished, I can redirect my focus once again to finishing this—and creating more—new music. I've even included a form on the page where you can sign up to be notified when the songs are ready to listen to. (If you'd like to sign up yourself, click the button below and you'll see the signup form for the same mailing list).
And speaking of creating more new music, the main reason I hope to complete this project so soon is because I've already gotten ideas for which songs to include on the next album! Lots of music still to be made, so I don't have time to dawdle around any longer!
3. New Gear: Line 6 Helix LT
One of the biggest updates for me recently is the purchase of my latest piece of gear, the Line 6 Helix LT. Ever since having compatibility issues with my Eleven Rack, I've been on the hunt for the next great amp modeler and effects unit.
After watching tons of videos about the Helix line of products from Line 6, and comparing it with other modelers like the Kemper profiler, Headrush, and Axe-FX II & III, I decided the Helix LT would be the best choice for my needs. It's basically the same as the full-blown Helix floor unit except without most of the inputs and outputs I'll likely never need anyway. And it also doesn't have the "scribble strips" that show the names of presets, effects, amps, etc., above each footswitch.
Overall, I'm happy with my new piece of gear. It's got all the tones, effects, and configurations I should need for many years to come. And, it's also been a staple for many guitarists since its release back in 2015 (the Helix LT came out in 2017), so I have no worries about future compatibility issues like those I ran into with my Eleven Rack. (I'm still keeping my Eleven Rack, but mostly for spare tones I've already set up in it.)
I'm currently in the process of creating new videos and new presets for the Line 6 Helix LT, so be sure and check out the buttons below to see more from me on this amazing unit.
Well, that's it for now. If you have any questions for me regarding the above updates, please contact me and I'll be sure to respond as soon as possible.
