Finally write your book the way it was meant to be written

Have you ever been frustrated with never being able to start, revise, edit, or finish a novel? You've always wanted to write a book but programs like Microsoft Word and Google Docs simply don't meet your needs for organization, research gathering, compiling into various document formats, etc. These are just a few of the many reasons why...

You need Scrivener!

With Scrivener, you can finally organize and rearrange all your chapters and scenes in a logical order; view your novel in outline and corkboard modes for easier layering and plotting; tag your scenes with keywords, compile your books into PDF, epub, and lots of other popular print and ebook formats—all this and loads more!

Rid yourself of endless scrolling through chapters and scenes

Nobody likes to wade through endless oceans of text to relocate chapters and scenes they've written. After all, you're a writer not a secretary. Why suffer through such endless scrolling agony when you can let Scrivener sort it all for you?

Scrivener lets you write your way.

Whether you like to write long bits of text in chapter format, in scenes with shorter word counts, or sub-sections for non-fiction books, Scrivener lets you write your book your way.

Scrivener Solves Your Writing Problems in 8 Ways:

1

From blank page to book—your way

Scrivener unites everything you need to write, research and arrange long documents in a single, powerful app. At its heart is a simple ring-binder metaphor that allows you to gather your material and flick between different parts of your manuscript, notes and references with ease. Break your text into manageable sections of any size and leave Scrivener to stitch them together. Integrated outlining tools let you plan everything first or restructure later. And as your project grows, you'll find that Scrivener grows with it.

2

Piece it together

Switch instantly between editing your manuscript one section at a time and together as a whole. Working on a long text is easier when you break it into smaller pieces, and Scrivener gives you complete control over how small (or large) those pieces are. Novelists can write each scene in a separate document, or whole chapters as one; theses can be split into arguments or chapters or paragraphs. However you take it apart, Scrivener's innovative "Scrivenings" mode lets you put the pieces together and edit them as though they were all part of a single document.

3

Corkboard

The corkboard is one of the writer's most familiar planning tools. But before Scrivener, if you moved index cards on the board, you'd also have to reshuffle the sections those cards represented in your manuscript to reflect your changes. In Scrivener, every section of your project is attached to a virtual index card. Scrivener's corkboard lets you step back and work with just the synopses you've written on the cards—and when you move them, you're rearranging your manuscript at the same time.

4

Outliner

Find the structure of your writing with Scrivener's powerful outliner. Like the corkboard, the outliner lets you work with an overview of a chapter, a part, or even your whole manuscript—but puts even more information at your fingertips. Arrange your draft however you want using folders and subfolders. Review synopses of what you've written so far or summarize what you need to write next. Check word counts. View meta-data. And when you suddenly realise your epilogue would work better as a prologue? No problem. Easily reorganize everything using drag and drop.z

5

Grow your manuscript your way

Tailor-made for long writing projects, Scrivener banishes page fright by allowing you to compose your text in any order, in sections as large or small as you like. Got a great idea but don't know where it fits? Write when inspiration strikes and find its place later. Grow your manuscript organically, idea by idea.

See the forest or the trees

Whether you plan or plunge, Scrivener works your way: hammer out every last detail before typing a word, or carve out a draft and restructure later. Or mix your methods and do a bit of both. In Scrivener, everything you write is integrated into an easy-to-use project outline. So working with an overview of your manuscript is only ever a click away, and turning Chapter Four into Chapter One is as simple as drag and drop.

Research within reach

Need to refer to research? In Scrivener, your background material is always at hand, and you can open it right next to your work. Write a description based on a photograph. Transcribe an interview. Take notes about a PDF file or web page. Or check for consistency by referencing an earlier chapter alongside the one in progress.

Getting it out there

Once you're ready to share your work with the world, compile everything into a single document for printing, self-publishing, or exporting to popular formats such as Word, PDF, Final Draft or plain text. You can even share using different formatting, so that you can write in your favorite font and still satisfy those submission guidelines.

This 30-day free trial isn't like any other!

Scrivener comes with a better-than-standard 30-day Free Trial. What do I mean by better-than-standard? The trial is for 30 days of actual use. Which means if you use it every other day, you'll be able to use it for 60 actual days. In other words, the trial only counts down the days you actually use Scrivener!

Scrivener 3 Example

Actual example from one of my many Scrivener projects.

Are you ready to jump in?

As you've already seen, I can't say enough good things about Scrivener. But no matter how much I tell you, you'll never get the full experience without trying Scrivener for yourself.

There's nothing to lose. You've got plenty of time to try it out. Start a new book or import your current work in progress into Scrivener and give it a try. If Scrivener can help you write—or finish—just one book, the already ultra-affordable price will be more than worth it many times over!

Already have Scrivener but need help?

If so, you know the headaches that come with creating both print books and ebooks in Scrivener (aka "Compiling"). I've been there before, and I can show you the ins and outs of what it takes to create a clean, beautiful, headache-free compile!

In my new course, you'll learn how to deal with the most annoying aspects of the compiling process such as:

  • Proper book preparation before diving into the compiling process
  • Compile visually stunning ebook and print books in Kindle mobi and PDF (same tips can be applied to epub and other formats)
  • Tackle even the most head-pounding headaches in Scrivener's "Compile" menu such as Contents, Formatting, and Page Settings
  • Learn and understand compiling concepts most other instructors overlook (Separators, Footnotes, Table of Contents, etc.)
  • Proof your books, assess irregularities, and make corrections before uploading to CreateSpace, Amazon KDP, etc.
  • And much more!

Fixing Scrivener Compiling Headaches

Did you know I created my own course all about navigating and mastering the most complex part of Scrivener—the compiling process! I'll guide you step by step on how to easily create your own print and ebook formats in this premium masterclass with 6.5 hours of video!

A quick side note about the course

Since Scrivener 3 was released in late 2017, the compiling process has been totally revamped. Though my Scrivener course mainly deals with Scrivener 2, I'm not worried. That shouldn't deter you from previewing the course. Many of the headaches I tackle in this course are still relevant to Scrivener 3.

In fact, I created a separate document in the course dealing with some of the main issues (aka headaches) I've found while working within Scrivener 3. Once you've signed up for the course (above), you can view it in Section 1, Lesson 14 (S1-14). For now, if you're curious about checking out Scrivener 3 for yourself, click the button above for more information.

Also, currently this course is only available for Founding Members of my Substack. Again, click the button above for more info.
