Hi, I'm Eric. It's great to see you!

Welcome to my official author page here on my website. Here's a little about me...

I've authored many books, stories, poems, essays, blog posts, and songs. The basis for much of my writing comes from a great many notebooks and journals I fill with my experiences, ideas, and stories. In fact, I recently created my own Substack publication, Gleaning Words, to host the best of these "gleaned" journal entries.

I'm proud to say that I've also participated in—and thrice won—the popular writing competition National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in the years 2009, 2015, and 2018. More recently, I was a shortlist winner and finalist for the "Art of the Title" competition hosted by the Self-Publishing Advice Conference (SelfPubCon) in 2023.

Fun Fact: The first two books in my SMART FOCUS series became Top 100 Paid Bestsellers in their categories on Amazon, alongside several of my favorite authors and their books.

I'm currently at work finishing the edits on a novel I penned many years ago, in hopes of publishing it in the very near future.

module 01: incubate

The Problem: You’re in a creative rut and don’t know how to break free.
The Solution: Incubate.
So, what do I mean by incubate? Simply put, incubation is another word for
meditation. Chewing things over. Letting things mentally digest. Not forcing the process; trusting the process.
When you put your ideas into incubation, you mull things over while going on with the normal, everyday activities in your life. The ideas that give you the most problems are allocated to the back-burner, simmering while you let them alone long enough to marinate and reduce into more manageable solutions.
